Ten Top Tips for an Effective online profile: Tip 9
Tip 9: Talk to strangers… Write in the first person, and talk to an individual who is reading your page, someone who is just your kind of customer. You have an ideal customer - write as if you are talking to them, one to one. Once you've written your profile, try asking someone who does not really know your "business persona" to assess it in the same way - or ask a stranger. The objective feedback will help you to improve the profile, and you will also pick up on areas where you have not explained things clearly enough. Other people, if asked to give an honest assessment, will quickly spot gaps and pick up on unclear or redundant phrases. So in a sentence: Get someone else to check over things for you, because if it does not make sense to them at one reading, it needs more work.
